Fiddler on the Roof!

Luba Evans’ daughter, Maria is playing the role of Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof”!
The show is going to take place in the P.S.183 school auditorium, on the 4th floor! The school is on 419 E. 66th street between 1st & York.
If you’ve never seen “Fiddler On the Roof”, you’re lucky’ to get introduced to a great piece of art! If you have that’s also great, you can see it again, performed by talented kids!

“Fiddler on the Roof” is based on the Shalom Aleichem stories. The book is by Joseph Stein, music is by Jerry Bock, and the lyrics are by Sheldon Harnick. Tevye is a jewish man who is the father of 5 daughters. In their little village in Russia, Anatevka, they can be forced to leave their homes any minute, so they try to keep their balance and survive and grant God’s wish at the same time, as Tevye says later: “God would like us to be joyful, even when our hearts lie panting on the floor”. And they are all like a fiddler on the roof, trying to scratch out a pleasant, simple tune, without breaking his neck. And how do they keep their balance? Tradition!

The performance is on Friday, March 26, at 7:00 p.m., And Saturday, March 27, 2:00 p.m. We are not too sure how long the performance will be, so be prepared for maybe a 2 hour show! The tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children. The children will be put up front so they can see.

If you and a few friends would like to see the show, just e-mail Maria ( luba’s daughter) at maria_a_evans@hotmail.com and tell her how many tickets you want. You do not need to pay now. You can pay us back later. Hope to see you there!

Please, resond by Sunday night, March 14, 1999.
