Garth Brooks backs kids campaign

 |

Country singer Garth Brooks is supporting an effort by an alliance of North American dentists to raise $5 million for children’s groups.

Brooks told 750 members of the Crown Council that his Touch ‘em All Foundation would team up with the council’s Smiles for Life Charity Campaign, the Associated Press reports.

“We have 14 charities to start,” Brooks said Saturday. “The money is for children, and the areas we will use it for is medical, education and inner-city projects since those needs are so great.”

Dentists participating in the campaign will provide discounts on teeth whitening for the next three months, with proceeds going directly to the Smiles For Life Foundation.
