  • Triangle United Way, Research Triangle Park, NC, raised over $25 million in its 1999 capital campaign.
  • Capitol Broadcasting Company, Raleigh, NC, collected 6500 coats and over $90,000 in partnership with the Celebration of Lights for its eleventh annual Coats for Children drive.
  • The Charlotte Symphony, Charlotte, NC has changed both its box office and administrative phone numbers. The administraive office can be reached at 704-972-2003 and the box office at 704-972-2000. The old number 704-332-0468 will be phased out over the next six months.
  • Moses-Cone Wesley Long Community Health Foundation, Greensboro, NC, awarded $138,000 to elementary programs in the greater Greensboro area. Funds will be used to set-up ten new Project Fit America sites.
  • Ann Lichter, director of Intergovernmental Relations in the Office of the Governor, Raleigh, NC, named board chair of the International Visitors Council, Research Triangle Park, NC.
  • Sally Jones, Winston-Salem, NC awarded the Bill Holman Award for Environmental Advocacy by the Consevation Council of North Carolina, Raleigh, NC.
  • 11,000 Wake County students voted in mock elections held recently by Kids Voting USA, Raleigh, NC. The elections and outreach programs teach students the importance of voting.
  • Arts and Science Council, Charlotte, NC, has set $8.6 million as the goal for its annual fundraising campaign. The campaign will run through February 24 and monies raised will fund program and grants expansion.
