Stepping up – Urban League promotes fundraiser

 |

The National Urban League has promoted Gena Davis Watkins, director of development, to the new post of vice president for development and chief development officer.

Watkins succeeds M. Gasby Greely, senior vice president for development and communications, who has been named executive vice president of strategic resources development at The Washington Opera.

The New York-based group also has shifted responsibility for media relations activities, which Greely had overseen.

The league’s publications and media relations activities will be directed by Lee A. Daniels, publications director, and Leslie A. Dunbar, media relations director.

The National Urban League, founded in 1910, has 115 affiliates in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
