  • Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle, WA, awarded $5.8 million for internet access and computer training to 376 libraries in the poorer areas of Ontario, Canada.

  • El Pomar Foundation, Colorado Springs, CO, awarded $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Denver, to support mentor programs.
  • Goizeuta Foundation, Atlanta, GA, awarded $770,000 to the U of Georgia, College of Family and Consumer Services, Athens, GA to establish the Childhood Development Associate Training Project in support of the Georgia Early Learning Initiative.
