  • Arbor Acres, The Triad United Methodist Home, has received a $115,000 grant from the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation in Atlanta for the support of female residents who cannot afford to pay for the care and services they receive. The foundation has awarded Arbor Acres financial aid grants each year since 1981. It honors the memory of Lettie Pate Whitehead, who was not only the wife of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Atlanta, Georgia but served also as the director of Coca-Cola for nearly 20 years. Mrs. Whitehead’s youngest son, Conkey Pate Whitehead, made provisions in his will to memorialize his mother by establishing the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation.
