Two key volunteer groups are joining forces, aiming to give retired persons more chances to get involved in human service work.
The National Retiree Volunteer Coalition will become part of Volunteers of America, combining the coalition’s corporate affiliations and with Volunteers of America’s community networks.
Working with some of the biggest U.S. corporations, the coalition puts retirees to work through partnerships it creates among retirees, their former employers and their communities in 16 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces.
The 15-year old organization will move its headquarters to Volunteers of America’s corporate headquarters in Alexandria, Va.
Volunteers of America is a nonprofit, spiritually-based organization that connects more than 1.5 million people to human service programs in the U.S. each year.
