  • Capitol Broadcasting Company, Raleigh, NC, raised over $41,000 for the United Arts Campaign 2000. Monies raised during the annual campaign will be used to increase arts accessibilty in the Triangle.
  • Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation, Greensboro, NC has approved more than $1.9 million for the Medication Assistance Program. The program will provide prescription medications to the homeless and working poor of Guilford County who are unable to obtain these medications regularly.
  • A Toast to the Triangle, the Tammy Lynn Center’s premiere fundraising activity, raised over $161,000 for the Tammy Lynn Endowment. Sixteen hundred guests attended.
  • Women’s Funding Network, St. Paul, MN, will hold its 16th Annual Conference in Los Angeles April 27-29. Visit the website or call 651-227-1911 for more information.
  • Junior League of Winston-Salem ‘s “Read To Me” Festival on Saturday, February 5, 2000 attracted over 1600 children and each received a book to take home. The festival was co-funded by a grant from the SmartStart program.
  • ACRA recently became one of only two organizations ever to receive a Governor’s World AIDS Day Volunteer Service Award. ACRA received the award in recognition of its integral role in developing housing specifically for people with HIV/AIDS in North Carolina.
  • ACRA’s endowment at the Triangle Community Foundation has grown to over $130,000, providing financial stability and viability for ACRA . The Richard K. Meyer Memorial Fund was established by Horst and Ruth Mary Meyer in memory of their son. Tribute and memorial gifts to the fund are encouraged.
