The Triangle United Way had the best ad campaign last year among the largest local United Way affiliates.
The campaign, designed on a pro-bono basis by Craig Jackson & Partners in Chapel Hill, was honored at the recent annual conference of United Way of America.
The campaigns in New York and Orlando, respectively, won second and third place.
The Triangle ad campaign, “Make a choice that really matters,” used print and broadcast media and focused on the options that donors face in deciding what to do with their money.
Last year’s campaign raised just over $25 million, an increase of nearly 12 percent over the 1998 campaign.
Proceeds from the campaign benefit nearly 300,000 people through more than 200 health and human services programs in Durham, Orange and Wake counties.
