$2.5M for new ballet – Ford boosts endowment

The Ford Foundation has awarded a $2.5 million grant to help the San Francisco Ballet establish an endowment specifically to fund new works, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The grant was one of 28 awards totaling $40 million announced this week by the New York-based Ford Foundation. The Ballet will match the grant by raising $5 million in the next five years.
