  • The Women’s Sports Foundation and Gatorade have joined efforts to inspire girls to participate in sports with a new web site that provides information about access to local sports.

  • Bonnie Pitman, former executive director Bay Area Discovery Museum, San Francisco, CA, named deputy director, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX.
  • The Sabin Vaccine Institute, New Cannan, CT awarded a five year, $500,000 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle, WA. The grant will fund the Sabin Vaccine Colloquium, an annual meeting to speed development of new vaccines and immunizations.
  • Gifts In Kind International, Alexandria, VA, received $2.75 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to fund the global expansion of product philanthropy.
