$2.1M for Stanford – Info-tech networking boosted

 |

The Robert Bosch Corporation donated $2.1 million to Stanford University as part of an on-going collaboration for research into information technology networking.

The gift will endow a faculty development chair and two fellowships for graduate engineering students.

Bosch also joined two Stanford affiliate programs — the Center for Integrated Systems and the Stanford Network Research Center.

The funded research will focus on the transportation industries, particularly new automotive technologies.

“We envision vehicles that are able to network with the Internet, highways and traffic management systems, other vehicles and drivers,” said Manfred Moellendorf, executive vice president of the Bosch Research and Technology Center.
