$7.8M school reform – Charter, public schools team up

The Annenberg Foundation has dedicated $7.8 million for a collaborative project to improve student outcomes in California.

The grant will be given to Foundations, Inc., which will conduct the five-year school reform effort in partnership with the Developmental Studies Center of Oakland, California.

The project aims to connect charter and traditional school staffs to improve student outcomes.

Beginning in July 2000, the project will involve five charter schools and five traditional district schools. Each year, the program will involve two additional schools.

Foundations, Inc. is a nonprofit that provides school enrichment programs in California. The Development Studies Center is a nonprofit also focused on education enrichment for children.
