New biology program – Shared laboratories, equipment, faculty

Three New York research institutions are putting together a $160 million research center, in part with money from an anonymous donor, the New York Times reported June 27.

The Tri-Institutional Research Program will be a collaboration between Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller University and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

The program will have shared laboratories, equipment and faculty working on projects in chemical, computational and cancer biology. The faculty will be appointed in the next five to 10 years.
