How donors make decisions will be the focus of the September monthly luncheons in the Triad and Triangle chapters of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, while development nuts and bolts will be the topic of the Charlotte chapter’s annual fundraising conference.
At the Triad session, to be held Sept. 26 at the Magnolia Manor in Colfax, the topic will be the alignment of corporate giving with corporate objectives.
Peggy Carter, vice president for corporate affairs at Sara Lee Corp., will speak at the luncheon, which begins at 11:45 a.m.
At the Triangle session, to begin at noon on Sept. 21 at the Holiday Inn, Research Triangle Park, the topic will be what individual donors expect from development professionals.
Beth Briggs, president of Raleigh fundraising firm Creative Philanthropy and a member of the board of directors of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, will moderate a panel that will include Frank Daniels Jr., former publisher of The News & Observer; Barbara Goodmon, a director of the Fletcher Foundation; and Mary Mountcastle, a trustee of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
At the all-day Charlotte conference, to be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, consultant Terry Axelrod will speak on how to build lifelong donors.
