Cal raises $1B – 32 percent increase

 |

The University of California raised over $1 billion in private support for the first time ever in its 1999-2000 school year, up 32 percent from a year earlier.

Private support represents roughly 4 percent of the school’s operating budget and supports educational programs not covered by state funding.

It was the sixth straight year the university set a record in its annual fundraising.
