$19M to build leaders – Six-year initiative

 |

The Ford Foundation will invest $19 million over six years to foster leadership throughout the U.S.

The new foundation’s program, Leadership for a Changing World, will recognize outstanding leaders and leadership teams not broadly known beyond their immediate community or field.

Recognized leaders will receive $130,000 to advance their work and will attend forums that will bring recipients together to share experiences, discuss challenges and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The Advocacy Institute will manage the initiative and the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University will conduct related research.

The program aims to recognize achievement, and also to study how leadership is perceived, created and sustained.
