$11.8M boost – 60 percent of goal

 |

The Museum of Glass in Takoma, Wash., has landed nearly $12 million in new funding, representing 60 percent of its $34 million goal.

Most of the new funds were from an anonymous $10 million challenge grant, to be matched dollar for dollar by the museum’s completion in June 2002.

Construction has begun on the museum, which will anchor new commercial, residential and civic development in downtown Tacoma and will house galleries and studios for contemporary artists.
