 |

Research to find a cure for breast cancer is being backed by 83 new grants from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, bringing its scientific funding to more than $13 million this year.

Grants awarded in 2000 include 20 postdoctoral fellowships, 32 clinical research awards, eight technology awards and 10 population-specific awards.

The foundation’s national grant program is funded by 25 percent of all funds raised by its affiliates and Komen Race for the Cure events throughout the U.S., as well as by individual and corporate donations.
