The Durham Public Education Network has named volunteer leaders and staff members.

Kay Morgan, public relations director of Morgan Dodge Jeep, is the new chair of the board of directors for the group, which supports Durham’s public schools.

James Alexander, finance vice president and treasurer for The Herald-Sun, is chair-elect.

Katherine Taylor, former director of supported employment for East Bay Innovations in Oakland, Calif., has been named development director.

She succeeds Anna Boroughs, former development and research associated for the Duke University School of Law, who served briefly before leaving for medical reasons.

Donna Rewalt, former communications and development officer for Senior PHARMAssist in Durham, has been named community engagement coordinator.

The group has begun a big initiative to get the community involved in improving the public schools.
