With ethics becoming a big issue for investors, a new Web site features data on the social role of more than 1,000 firms, Newsweek magazine reported in its Nov. 13 issue.
The site, socialfunds.com, tracks corporate factors such as human rights, labor practices and animal testing.
Visitors to the site can enter a company’s name and find its record on more than 20 social goals, scan shareholder-driven initiatives and find out about the firm’s community involvement.
Investors also can learn about 60 or so socially managed mutual funds.
One in eight investors today weights ethical factors, Newsweek said, and an estimated $2.16 trillion is invested using socially responsible guidelines.
