Exec for booster group – Worked for House leader

 |

Patricia Pleasants, special assistant for research to state Rep. Phil Baddour, a Goldsboro Democrat and House majority leader, has been named executive director of Friends of the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, the museum’s nonprofit membership arm.

Before going to work for Baddour in January 1999, Pleasants worked for the museum group on its recently completed capital campaign, overseeing fundraising in the Triangle.

The booster group expects to raise $2.3 million this year — through memberships, gift shop sales, leases of museum space to outside groups and income from special exhibits — and will give just under half of that total to the museum as a cash contribution.
