$100M for Ethiopia – Executive shifts gears


CyBerCorp Chairman Philip Berber has pledged $100 million from a family trust to help the people of poverty-stricken Ethiopia, Reuters reported Nov. 17.

Berber sold CyBerCorp to Charles Schwab Corp. for $488 million in March.

He and his wife then decided they wanted to help in Ethiopia, he said.

Berber said his role as chairman of CyBerCorp would play a secondary role to his charitable work through his “A Glimmer of Hope” project, which will focus on increasing access to education and community building in the African country.
