Microsoft is donating $100 million to a program designed to give underprivileged children access to technology, Reuters reported Dec. 4.
The program, Club Tech, aims to bring technology education to more than 3.3 million children throughout the U.S. through the Boys and Girls Club of America.
Club Tech will set up technology centers at community Boy and Girls Clubs over the next five years, with curriculum, program management and computer training for staff.
The donation, consisting of $12.3 million in cash and $88 million in software, is the software maker’s largest gift ever.
