Triangle leader tapped – Focus on donors

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Keith Burwell, executive director of the Environmental Federation of North Carolina for 10 years, has been named to the new position of executive vice president at the Triangle Community Foundation.

Burwell, the federation’s founding executive director, will oversee fundraising, donor services and communications for the $87 million-asset foundation.

The foundation, which has distributed $34 million in grants and scholarships since it was founded in 1983, has reorganized itself to better help donors become more focused and effective in their philanthropy.

The Environmental Federation raises money for 27 environmental groups in the state.
