Duke official retires – Philanthropy in future

Marilyn Hartman, who founded the certificate program in nonprofit management at Duke University, has retired as director of new program development for the university’s continuing education program.

Hartman, who most recently created the DELTA leadership training program at Duke, plans to be involved in philanthropic work after her retirement.

Duke’s nonprofit program, funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Mich., offers hundreds of courses at locations throughout North Carolina.
