Online vision – Hands-on approach

 |

While technology will play an increasingly important role in philanthropy, traditional strategies remain the key to raising money, says the top tech guru at the biggest bank in the U.S.

“We continue to think that the major money will be raised through relationships and on a hands-on basis,” says J. Tim Arnoult, technology & operations executive at Bank of America in Charlotte, and chairman of the annual campaign at Charlotte’s Arts & Science Council, which this year aims to raise a record $10 million.

“I do think,” he says, “that over time, as people adopt technology and wireless devices into their daily way of doing things, technology will play a bigger role but, frankly, today it’s going to be more traditional ways of contacting people.”
