Fundraiser moves – New assignment

 |

Mary Moss, director of development at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh for 11 years, has been named associate head for institutional advancement at Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh.

Moss, a Saint Mary’s graduate who begins work April 23, will oversee development, communications, alumnae relations and admissions for the Episcopal boarding school for girls.

Moss helped raised more than $23 million in gifts and pledges at Ravenscroft, including a capital campaign that ended in 1993 and raised $5.2 million, and a $12.5 million campaign expected to end six months ahead of schedule on June 30 that has raised $11.85 million.

The school’s annual fund has agrown to $502,000 in the fiscal year that ends June 30 from $140,000 in Moss’ first full year at Ravenscroft.

While fundraising plans still are being developed at Saint Mary’s, Moss says major gifts will get a major focus that could result in a capital campaign. A top priority, she ways, will be scholarship funds and boosting the school’s $22 million endowment by at least half.

Before joining Ravenscroft, she was director of major gifts for the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Duke University, and director of development at Durham Academy.
