WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Tom Ross, the new executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem, has begun to build his staff with the name of two program officers.
One is Barbara Roole, who has been working in the Orange County personnel department.
A 2000 graduate of the joint graduate program in law and public administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Roole previously worked for several social-service nonprofits in South Florida.
The second new program officer will be Mary Fant Donnan, director of research and policy for the state Department of Labor.
Donnan, a William Friday Fellow at the Wildacres Leadership Initiative in Research Triangle Park and a 2001 American Marshall Memorial Fellow, is a former development director for the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research in Raleigh.
