Requests down – Funder set limits

The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem received only 150 applications for its spring grants cycle, says Tom Ross, the foundation’s executive director.

The number was down from the 400 typically submitted in each of the foundation’s fall and spring grants cycles, Ross says, and probably reflected the foundation’s having limited applications to groups that received Reynolds funding over the past few years.

In the fall cycle, when the foundation again will consider applications from any nonprofit in the state, Ross says, he expects about 600 applications.
