The Cleveland Foodbank and Food Rescue of Northeast Ohio have decided to merge their operations, effective immediately.
Food Rescue will become a division of the Foodbank.
Last year, FoodChain, parent organization of Food Rescue, merged with America’s Second Harvest, parent organization of the Foodbank.
The two Cleveland groups, which last year distributed more than 17 million pounds of food, or 13 million meals.
In Northeast Ohio, 413 hunger centers rely on the two groups for more than 75 percent of the food they provide to people in need.
