  • The Trust for Jewish Philanthropy receives a commitment of $8.4 million from The Ted Arison Family Foundation of Tel Aviv, Israel. $5 million will be used by The Trust for Jewish Philanthropy as a challenge grant for the creation of an endowment fund to support the operating expenses of the Israeli based not-for-profit organization Matan-Your Way to Give, which is modeled after United Way; $3.4 million will be used for Birthright Israel to create birthright Israel/Essence of Life Partnership, a comprehensive program of interaction between young Israelis and Diaspora participants in birthright israel; and $1.5 million will be contributed to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation to fund a variety of needs including Birthright Israel follow-up programming, day school incentive grants, program grants to promote Jewish unity, and a leadership development center.
