United Way chief – Moving from Dayton

 |

The Triangle United Way has named Craig Chancellor, president of the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area in Ohio since 1993, as its new president.

Chancellor, who starts his new job in mid-January and previously was president of the United Way of Saginaw County in Michigan for five years, succeeds Tom Dugard, who resigned last summer to become CEO and president of Heart of America United Way in Kansas City, Mo.

The Triangle United Way has struggled in its annual fund drive this fall, having raised just over $17 million, or 65.3 percent of its goal, 11 weeks into the campaign.

The campaign has been extended three weeks until Dec. 13.

The Dayton United Way this fall met its annual goal of $17.7 million, down from $18.2 million that it raised in 2001.
