Endowment boost – Five groups selected

Five Greensboro nonprofits will get $10,000 each from the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro for endowment if they can raise at least $20,000 by Dec. 15, 2002.

The foundation selected the five groups from 21 that submitted applications for its endowment challenge, which aims to help local charities build their endowment assets.

Groups selected for the challenge are Court Watch of North Carolina, which assists custodial parents with family matters and monitors state courts; Greensboro Beautiful, which promotes public-private cooperation to improve the region’s beauty and ecology; the Greensboro Children’s Museum, which provides interactive learning to youngsters up to age 12; Help Inc., Center Against Violence, a Rockingham County group that supports victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault; and Leadership Greensboro, a leadership-development program of the Greensboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
