Hornets move could hurt

 |

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With the Charlotte Hornets eyeing a move to New Orleans, Charlotte area nonprofits worry about losing charitable support the team provided, The Associated Press reported March 31.

The George Shinn Foundation, the NBA team’s charitable arm, donated $834,000 to charities between 1998 and 2000.

Groups supported by the foundation include Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts of America and the athletics department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
