Cumberland fund gets $1.7 million

 |

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland Community Foundation received $1.7 million from the estate of Jeannette Yanoff, and will used to provide annual grants to support charitable groups, The Fayetteville Observer reported July 3.

The Harry Louis Yanoff and Jeannette Master Yanoff Charitable Fund will provide grants based on guidelines set by the late Jeannette Yanoff, who requested that the guidelines not be disclosed to the public.

The couple – Harry Yanoff died in 1996 and Jeannette Yanoff died in August 2001 – were local patrons of the arts and local charities.

The gift is the largest in the foundation’s 21-year history.
