- John McArthur, ESNC board member and form chief of staff to Governor Michael Easley, recently presented Food Lion president, Rich Anicetti, with the NC Good Corporate Citizen Award on behalf of the Governor. The plaque was given in recognition of Food Lion’s outstanding efforts over the past 11 years in raising more than $8 million to help children with disabilities and their families in communities across North Carolina.
- The World Children’s Choir, headquartered in McLean, Virginia, announces the appointment of a new managing director. Randy A. Carswell of Arlington, Virginia will assume the position effective immediately. The World Children’s Choir serves as a voice for children worldwide, celebrates cultural diversity through music, and builds positive international relations.
- Kids Voting North Carolina/Wake County electred three new members to its board of directors. The new board members are: John Gilbert, Wake County Board of Elections, Catherine Ringo, Wake Education Partnership, and Michael Wright, WakeMed.
