  • The Women’s Technology Cluster/Social Entrepreneurship Incubator will host Social Ventures: What Nonprofits Need to Know about Earned Income Revenue Models on October 29th, 2002 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. The conference will focus on when non-profit organizations create social business ventures, business models and social mission converge. Earned-income revenue models offer social entrepreneurs numerous benefits, but they are not for every organization. Learn from and interact with a panel of leading experts who are operating social venture models and hear them explore the following topics: * Are non-profit venture models right for everyone (and why not)? *What are key ingredients to successful ventures? *What are the challenges and benefits of generating income through ventures? *What resources are available to non-profits interested in earned-income models? *Which donors lend financial support to organizations that use these models? The conference will be held at The Women’s Technology Cluster (1207 Indiana Street, San Francisco).
