211 referral service expands

 |

By Todd Cohen

Call United Way 2-1-1, a telephone and online referral service for health and human-service programs in the Triad, is growing, thanks in part to a two-year, $100,000 grant from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem.

Launched last February by the United Ways in Forsyth County, Greensboro and High Point to serve Forsyth and Guilford counties, the service now has been expanded to Randolph and Rockingham counties and will add Davie County in February.

Visitors to the service’s Web site at callunitedway211.org can find information on more than 6,000 organizations.
