Mariposa School gets grant

 |

CARY, N.C. — The Mariposa School for Children with Autism has received $50,000 from the $5 million-asset Michael & Laura Brader-Araje Foundation in Durham.

As part of its inaugural Spark grant to help new organizations get started, the foundation will provide support and resources for the Cary school’s business planning, budgeting and fundraising, and creation of an outreach program.

Michael Brader-Araje will join the school’s board of directors. In 2000, he sold OpenSite Technologies, an online-auction software firm he founded, to Siebel Systems in San Mateo, Calif., for $542 million.

He later founded truePilot, an early-stage investment firm he serves as managing partner.
