Grants to aid Afghans

Health care, education and other services for needy Afghan women and children are the focus of seven grants from the Afghan Women Leaders Fund, a new fund created by the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors to boost the social role of women in Afghanistan.

The grants, to be handed out in small installments to address immediate relief needs, aim to help seven Afghan women leaders continue to provide services in the face of Taliban hostility, says the Rockefeller group, a nonprofit that helps donors develop and manage giving programs.
