Earth Share on move

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Earth Share of North Carolina, a Durham-based group that raises money mainly in the Triangle for 31 environmental groups in the state and for 38 national environmental groups, is targeting Greensboro.

Through its partnership with Earth Share in Washington, D.C., the North Carolina group already raises money in Greensboro through its workplace giving drive at American Express.

It also has held local workplace drives at Guilford College, the city of Greensboro and Guilford County, UnitedHealth Group, local Sears stores and the state employees campaign that includes UNCG, N.C. A&T State University and federal offices.

“This is our first big push outside the Triangle,” says Jill Lewis, executive director.

The group, which last year raised $480,000 in its fall campaign, this year set a goal of $550,000. Results won’t be known until spring.
