Duke gets $3.1M

DURHAM, N.C. — The Divinity School at Duke University received four gifts totaling $3.1 million to help build a new $22 million building.

The gifts, made to the university’s $2 billion Campaign for Duke, include:

*$1 million from Duke alumni William W. and Irene L. McCutchen of Westport, Conn.

*$1 million from the HCA Foundation in Nashville, Tenn., honoring its CEO and chairman, Jack O. Bovender Jr., a 1967 Duke alumnus and chair of the capital campaign

*$600,000 from J. Rex Fuqua, president and CEO of Realan Capital Corp.

*$500,000 from the Mary G. Stange Charitable Trust in Detroit.
