The budget crisis facing state government will be the focus of a public-policy forum for nonprofits scheduled for Feb. 21 in Cary.
The forum, sponsored by the N.C. Center for Nonprofits, also will feature workshops on nonprofit lobbying and advocacy.
The state budget will be the topic of two panels – one featuring Dan Gerlach, senior policy advisor for fiscal affairs to Gov. Mike Easley, and Republican State Rep. Ed McMahan of Charlotte, and the other featuring Andrea Bazan-Manson, executive director of El Pueblo; Ran Coble, executive director of the N.C. Center for Public Policy Research; and Andrea Harris, executive director of the N.C. Institute of Minority Economic Development.
Registration deadline for the forum, to be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at One Eleven Place, is Feb. 10.
