UCP names chief

Stephen Bennett, a former executive director of a UCP affiliate in California who recently headed a company that produced fundraising events, has been named CEO of United Cerebral Palsy Associations, or UCP.

Bennett will lead the national group as it works with its network of 105 affiliates throughout the U.S.

He was executive director of UCP of Los Angeles and Ventura County from 1978 to 1986; CEO of AIDS Project Los Angeles from 1989 to 1992; created and headed from 1992 to 2001 a national consulting practice in business strategy with a focus on health care; and was president of Pallotta TeamWorks from 2001 to 2002, managing 380 employees and an operating budget of $76 million for a firm that produced fundraising events for groups involved with breast cancer and AIDS.
