Grant boosts neighborhoods

 |

Thanks to a $50,000 challenge grant from Wachovia, the Winston-Salem office of the New York-based Local Initiatives Support Corporation raised another $147,280 to help revive struggling neighborhoods in the city.

The additional funds raised by LISC include $77,000 from 59 individuals.

Since opening its Winston-Salem office in 1999, LISC has committed more than $1 million in grants and loans to neighborhood revival in the city.
