 |

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – United Way of Central Carolinas in Charlotte has named Ed John, former vice president of planned giving and endowment at the United Way of America in Alexandria, Va., as its new vice president of planned giving.

John, who previously was vice president of major and planned gifts at United Way of the Great Salt Lake Area in Utah, will work to build relationships with donors and help them contribute to Untied Way using trusts, estate planning and legacy giving.

At United Way of America, he provided support to the national United Way system on planned giving and endowment development.

During his eight years there, annual planned-giving commitments and gifts that were paid grew to more than $100 million from $32 million, while United Way endowment funds grew to $1.25 billion from $350 million.
