Goodmon awards given

Raleigh-based Leadership Triangle gave its annual Goodmon Awards in four categories at a luncheon in Durham on Nov. 12.

Named after Jim Goodmon, president and CEO of Capital Broadcasting Co. and chairman of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, the awards recognize people and groups that have helped the Triangle region by acting as good citizens, tackling regional issues and fostering regional cooperation.

Winners include:

  • Exemplary regional leadership by an individual — Monica Doss, president, Council for Entrepreneurial Development.
  • Exemplary regional leadership by elected official — Wib Gulley, state senator, and David Miner, state representative.
  • Exemplary regional partnership — The Triangle–A Family of Communities, a collaboration of cities, towns, counties, chambers of commerce and convention and visitor bureaus.
  • Exemplary regional leadership by an organization — Research Triangle Regional Partnership.
