Connie Mullinix named interim head of Women’s Center in Chapel Hill.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Women’s Center in Chapel Hill has named an interim executive director and received a $30,000 grant for a media literacy project.

Connie Mullinix, president of Flynt Mullinex, a consulting firm that works with health-care groups on management and policy issues, will serve as interim director until March 1, when Terri Allred returns as executive director after a temporary leave.

The grant, from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem, will support an effort to help boys and girls in middle and high school develop critical thinking skills about media messages involving gender, body image, violence and relationships.
