By Todd Cohen

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. [05.07.04] — The Storehouse for Jesus in Mocksville raised more than $124,000 in cash and $112,000 in pledges, more than meeting its challenge by the Community Foundation of Davie County to raise $90,000 from Davie churches in the six months ended March 31 to receive $30,000 from the foundation.

The Storehouse now has raised roughly $481,000 towards its goal of raising more than $1 million to build a new facility in the third quarter of 2005 that will house consolidate the agency’s services, including dental clinics now located in two dental offices.

In addition to a pharmacy, medical clinic and new eye clinic, the facility will offer food and clothing, and will revive a chapel, Bible studies, and financial and personal counseling that were suspended in recent years because of a lack of space.
